A/W 2012 TREND PREDICTION

So Its nearly that time of year again. Nights are longer, days are colder and Im tucked up in bed wearing a hoodie. It's so cold I'm having trouble sleeping! Since its LFW, I thought I would do a quick post on my A/W trends. Its all very well having awe inspiring catwalks with perfect models but as a consumer I'm much more focussed on what I will actually wear this Autumn through to Winter!

Im really feeling inspired by the shops recently, especially the likes of River Island (a shop I don't tend to explore during summer.) They really seem to up their game for winter and really have some beautiful pieces I cant wait to get my hands on.

So, my prediction of what kind of trends I will wear this A/W are:

1. Leather / Pleather



I really like leather accents, they really grab me for some reason! I must confess I already own two leather sleeve jackets (guilty) and am craving more. I own the Primark version of the camo green and leather sleeve combo thats littering the highstreet and is a total rip off of that Zara jacket everyone loved. My Primark one is so versatile. I have a denim/leather combo (soon to be featured in outfit posts obvz) and am lusting after the River Island fallaway above. I also think leather skirts and trousers are timeless, so I look forward to investing in these pieces for Autumn/Winter.

*please also note, none of the items above are real leather, minus the croc skirt which I would not be purchasing/endorsing anyways as it is extremely overpriced.

2. Military/ Grunge



I really do love this trend! I always have loved grunge, and have always worn beanies, in fact they are so over-worn they need replacing! Got my eye on this red beanie and also would like a grey/marl one too. I used to own a beret so Ill be digging that out as I like the look (they way Jen from Clothes encounters wears the beret.) I like the grunge element they add to an outfit! I already have a parka and the camo cardi so I wont be investing in new ones. I also have a denim dungaree dress so I've pretty much mixed new pieces with items I already own. Definitely on the look out for some studded boots, and mixing these pieces with band tees, leather skirts and basics, I think I'll be good to go on the grunge/military front.

3. Brights, Patterns, Sparkle:



Every year I feel like I always go a bit overboard with the A/W style of dark patterns and colours, and this year I want to brighten up my outfits. I think Ill be doing this for A/W with pops of colour on my nails with my black dresses, sequin and metallics with black tights, patterned dresses with tights and leather jackets, and if my outfit is just basics and dark colours, I'm going to brighten things with a pop of colour satchel.
