I'm going to start this post with something very controversial. I HATE false nails.
I have never been the type to buy fake nails. But its not always been this way..
In the past ive dabbled with glue on nails, only to hate the feeling of the 'fakeness' of my nails. I've had acrylic nails professionally applied, only to remove them the very same day, (oh what a waste of £25!) Ive tried press on nails when I was about 16/17, only to watch a girl I once knew pick her fake nails of at our school prom. That one was enough to scar me for life.
I decided to give up. My excuses for short nails are as follows: I wear contact lenses daily and I dont want to remove my eyes taking them out/putting them in. They annoy the hell out of me. I'm growing my natural nails, (yeah right, I'm 23 and they havent grown a smidge so far!)
Dont get me wrong, I like the look of long nails. My mum has beautiful natural nails, that once coated with polish look enviable. I think polish lookis nicer on healty strong nails, and on so many fashion blogs, the girls have nice natural long nails.
When I first saw 'Impress Press on Nails' by Broadway, I was watching Foundonfilm on youtube. Sarah is a really great youtuber to watch, shes down to earth and really tells it how it is with products, so when she uploaded her review of Impress nails, and she said she really liked them, giving a proper run down of the pro's and con's of the nails, I was much more persuaded to give these a go. I really trust her opinion, her reviews are spot on. You can watch the impress nails review video here!
I purchased the clear nails in 010 'Colour me!' I'm not going to take a picture of the box/bottle the product comes in because I'm sure you'll have seen it 1025494361 times before, (its quite cute, yes, but howayy) and I applied them and painted them myself. I personally too keen on the designs already painted on the nails, they arnt to my taste, so I decided to paint them, and then if I want to switch it up, I can.
I have to say, Im really impressed with impress...(despite my shoddy painting.) The nails seem quite sturdy, I'm not too fearfull of them falling off. They are natural looking I think, not too long, and they feel comfortable to wear when doing day to day tasks/ typing on computers / using my phone (touch screen)/ eating (something I have so many problems with when wearing fake nails in the past) doing my hair (I wear extentions..fakeness galore) and finally, putting in/taking out my lenses. Hurrahh!
The main thing I notice about these nails is that they dont feel too intrustive, and theyve adjusted to my normal nails quite well and they dont feel like I'm wearing something obviously fake on my hands, a far cry to press ons I remember.
Ive worn the nails for 2 days now, and they are still in the same condition as first applied. I will of course update over the week for long term wear, but for a night out I will be using these again. Overall, I'm pleased!
What are your views on press ons? Have Impress 'Impressed' you?!
